The shell case is constructed from an optimized mix of different plywood types for strength and lightness. The legs are made from lightweight solid wood. The exterior is covered in premium synthetic leather (skai), providing a luxurious, scratch-resistant, and easy-to-clean finish -- the same durable material used on professional guitar amplifiers.

Absolutely. The entire shell weighs only 10-15 kg depending on the model, making it extremely easy for one person to carry. The legs attach with wing nuts that you tighten by hand -- no tools needed. The whole setup takes under 2 minutes, and the shell fits in virtually any car with the back seats folded down.

Our shells are handcrafted to fit a wide range of digital pianos and keyboards, including models from Roland, Yamaha, Korg, Casio, Kawai, and Nord. Each shell is built to match your specific instrument for a perfect fit. Custom interior dimensions are available on request.

Yes. We firmly believe that a grand piano shell with an openable lid provides a far more authentic and impressive appearance. The optional decorative lid (from €100) gives the shell a truly complete grand piano look.

We use synthetic leather (skai) and denim for our standard coverings, available in a huge range of colors and prints. Skai is proven to be extremely scratch-resistant and easy to clean. On request, we also offer high-gloss finishes (note: high gloss is more prone to scratches), custom wraps, hand-painted artwork, and corporate branding.

Yes. We offer three standard sizes (Small, Medium, and Large), but we can also build custom dimensions on request. Whether you need a smaller unit for a specific keyboard or a larger shell for maximum stage presence, we can accommodate your needs. Custom sizes are priced on application.

Every Pianoshells shell is unique and built to order, so none are kept in stock. The average production and delivery time is 2 to 3 weeks from order confirmation.

Yes. The closed case offers generous internal space for cables, power supplies, and DI boxes. On top of the shell, there is room for your synthesizer, mixer, or effects equipment.

No. While our shells are sturdily built to support a digital piano or keyboard, they are not designed to bear the weight of a person.

Our skai-covered shells are roadproof and far more durable for touring and transport. Polyester shells are prone to chipping and cracking, often requiring a specialist to repair. Our synthetic leather covering can be easily cleaned, replaced, or re-covered, and the protective bump strip doubles as a decorative design element that customers love.
